昨天下午,广东省教育厅发布了《关于2020年省级一流本科专业建设点名单的公示》的通知,公示了一批被列为一流本科专业建设点的学科。广东以色列理工学院材料科学与工程专业榜上有名。
广东以色列理工学院材料科学与工程专业
广东以色列理工学院材料科学与工程专业培养的是整合与领导材料研发及在半导体制造、生物材料等高科技产业应用的工程师和科技人才。目前,学校的研究领域包括金属与合金、陶瓷材料、高分子、纳米材料、生物材料、电子材料、功能材料、电化学与腐蚀、材料界面、微结构特征等。本专业的学生需要学习关于材料、晶体结构、加工和性能的基本原理及其应用的课程。
教学特色
广以的材料科学与工程专业除了设置有关现代材料学及其基本法则的课程之外,我们希望学生理解控制和影响材料合成、组织结构、性质和性能之间相互关系的科学原理。因此,广以的课程涵盖了晶体结构和微观结构分析、材料加工、电化学、扩散和相变、动力学和热力学、高分子性质等内容。学生们有机会参与前沿的科学研究,并到海外读研。
广以遵循安全可靠、节能环保的设计理念,为师生提供世界一流的教学、科研环境。按照在校生1000人计算,生均仪器设备值21万元。学校现有包括高级分离教学实验室、环境工程实验室、材料科学与工程实验室、物理实验室等15间大型教学实验室及44间科研实验室。广以的材料科学与工程专业要求学生在打好扎实的理论基础之后,尽快进入教学实验室和科研实验室,并参与教授的科研项目。在此过程中,他们既获得了课堂上的知识,也获得了科研所不可或缺的动手实践能力。
广以大多数教师拥有境外一流大学博士学位,有着在国际知名大学多年的教学科研工作经验。师资队伍中,外籍教师比例超过90%,来自以色列、美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、英国、新加坡、荷兰、德国、芬兰、丹麦、西班牙等国家。在教学过程中,他们不仅教授书上的内容,还会将自己在发达国家获得的先进经验分享给学生,带领他们进一步探索科学前沿。
毕业前景
本专业的学生拥有广阔的毕业前景。在就业方面,学生毕业后可从事的相关行业包括可再生能源,电力转换和热管理,运输和电动车,半导体和微电子,数据存储和传感器,塑料、陶瓷和体育产业,过滤和分离,腐蚀和涂料工业,微波和通信等。材料工程师可在航空航天、车辆制造、制造业、核工业、石油天然气、制药、生物材料、通信等行业就业。在求学深造方面,广以的学生在读研、进入学术机构和海外进修方面具有很强的竞争力,可申请攻读国际知名大学开设的材料科学与工程专业研究生课程。

The Guangdong Provincial Education Department has just announced a candidate list of the First-Class Undergraduate Programs, and the Program of Materials Science and Engineering of GTIIT is included in the list.
The Materials Science and Engineering Program in GTIIT
The Materials Science and Engineering Program aims to train graduates to integrate and lead in: Research and development of materials and their characterization and uses for high-technology industries – from semi-conductor manufacturing, through materials for biological applications. Research activities of this program include metals and alloys, ceramic materials, polymers, Nano-materials, biomaterials, electronic materials, functional materials, electrochemistry and corrosion, interfaces in materials, microstructural characterization, pharmaceutical materials science. Students need to learn some courses about fundamental principles of materials, crystalline structures, processing and properties, as well as their applications.
Teaching Characteristics
Materials science designs the courses about modern materials and basic laws behind like other universities, but we expect students to understand the scientific principles governing the interrelation among processing, structure, properties, and materials performance. For example, the courses include: Crystal structure and microstructural analysis, processing of materials, Electrochemistry, Diffusion and phase transformation, Kinetics and thermodynamics, Property of polymers, etc. As a result, students will be able to participate in leading researches and continued graduate school overseas.
Following the design principles of safety, reliability, energy conservation and environmental protection, GTIIT labs provide a world-class teaching and research environment for teachers and students. Each student is equipped with facilities a valued at 210,000 yuan, under the calculation of 1,000 students. Up to now, there 15 large teaching labs at GTIIT, such as Teaching Lab forAdvanced Separations, Environmental Engineering,Materials Science and Engineering Lab, Physics Laband Bioreactors and Fermenters Lab. Acquiring adequate knowledge about materials and processing experience are what a student in Materials science should do. Material science program actively involves college students into teaching lab, research lab and professors' projects as early as possible. So, they will gain in-class knowledge, hands-on skills, and practical interaction with real materials.
Most of the faculty members hold Ph.D. and have served in teaching and research in universities/institutions. Foreign faculty members account for more than 90% of the faculty team. They are from Israel, United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Singapore, Netherlands, Germany, Finland, Denmark, Spain, etc. We know what is important and useful in educating students. We not only deliver the knowledge in textbook, we also bring over the practical information that developed countries acquired.
Graduation Prospects
Graduates from this program have good graduation prospects. In terms of employment, the relevant industries that students can engage in after graduation include Renewable energy such as battery; Power conversion and thermal management; Transportation and electric vehicles; Semiconductor and Microelectronics; Data storage and sensors; Plastic, ceramic and Sports Industry; Filtration and separation; Corrosion and coating industry; Microwave and communication.
In terms of further studies, GTIIT students will have strong competitiveness for graduate school, academic institution and oversea exploration. They can apply for postgraduate courses in Materials Science and Engineering Program offered by internationally renowned universities.
