刘跃进，现任中国社会科学院文学研究所所长、研究员，中国社会科学院大学文学院院长，中国社会科学院研究生院文学系教授、博士生导师，兼任《文学评论》杂志社社长、《文学遗产》杂志主编、中华文学史料学学会会长。2018年中国社会科学院新增选学部委员。

刘跃进教授获南开大学中文系文学学士学位，其后到清华大学文史教研组任助教。1984年至1986年就读于杭州大学古籍研究所，师从姜亮夫先生、郭在贻先生研习古典文献学，获文学硕士学位。其后回清华大学中文系任讲师。1988年至1991年就读于中国社会科学院研究生院文学系，师从曹道衡先生研习汉魏六朝文学，获文学博士学位。1991年起，刘教授在中国社会科学院文学研究所从事科研工作。

Professor Liu Yuejin is currently the director and researcher of the Institute of Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the dean of the School of Chinese Language and Literature of the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Literature of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and concurrently the president of the Journal of Literature Review, the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Literary Heritage, and the president of the Chinese Society of Literary Historiography. In 2018, he was elected as a Member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Professor Liu received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Chinese Department of Nankai University and then worked as a teaching assistant in the Literature and History Teaching and Research Group of Tsinghua University. From 1984 to 1986, he studied at the Research Institute for Ancient Books of Hangzhou University, where he studied classical philology under the tutelage of Mr. Jiang Liangfu and Mr. Guo Zaiyi, and received his Master of Arts degree. From 1988 to 1991, he studied the literature of theHan,Wei and Six Dynastiesin the Literature Department of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences under Mr. Cao Daoheng and received his doctorate in literature. In1991, Professor Liu started his research career at the Institute of Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
