近日,宁波市发改委公布了关于2021年度重点领域新兴产业及战略性新兴产业发展专项资金政策兑现认定名单,9家市级工程研究中心获得认定,宁波诺丁汉大学申报的“有机固体废弃物综合应用宁波市工程研究中心”在列其中。自此,宁诺在产学研方面再添重磅平台。

本工程研究中心依托宁波诺丁汉大学国家科技部国际科技合作基地、浙江省有机废弃物转化及过程强化技术重点实验室及宁波市清洁能源转化技术重点实验室,联合浙江泰来环保科技有限公司、宁波开诚生态技术有限公司、宁波市北仑环保固废处置有限公司等企业,聚焦有机固体废弃物零碳/碳负排放能源化资源化过程中关键核心技术与装备开发。

研究中心聘请韩布兴院士担任中心学术委员会主任,加拿大皇家学会院士、加拿大工程院院士祝京旭教授担任学术委员会副主任。团队负责人吴韬教授长期致力于有机固体废弃物资源化处置技术以及环境催化技术的研究。该工程研究中心汇集了一支具备多学科领域、交叉融合背景的国际化科研队伍,其中教授级/正高级9人、副教授/高级工程师16人,与国内外多所知名科研机构建立了长期而深入的科研合作。

近年来,在吴韬教授的带领下,团队科研成果已逐步转向产业化应用,先后与十余家企业开展技术合作,以解决企业技术问题为突破口,有效地改善生产工艺,提升固废转化效能,同时也提高了企业的经济效益。另外,团队的专利技术还走出国门,其工业固体废弃物“近零排放”处置技术已授权美国Glenlair Field公司用于油泥处置。

据悉,该工程研究中心首期建设周期为2021年至2024年,预计总投入1200万元,将建设有机固体废弃物综合转化技术创新和产业化平台,力争通过3-5年的建设,逐步发展成为具有国内领先水平和国际影响力的有机固体废弃物综合转化工程研究中心。

未来,中心还将通过有机固体废弃物梯级能源化、资源化转化,实现全过程“零碳排放”甚至是“碳负排放”,提升宁波市乃至浙江省有机固体废弃物能源化、资源化转化科技水平,服务于“无废城市”建设和经济的绿色低碳发展,助力我国2030碳达峰以及2060碳中和目标的实现。

University granted to establish a Ningbo Engineering Research Centre

Recently, the UNNC research team of carbonaceous wastes processing, led by Professor Tao Wu, was granted status by the Ningbo government as one of nine new “Ningbo Engineering Research Centres”.

The Centre relies on the University’s Provincial Key Laboratory for Carbonaceous Waste Processing and Process Intensification and Municipal Key Laboratory on Clean Energy Conversion Technologies, and collaborates with local enterprises, focusing on the development of core technologies and equipment of carbonaceous waste processing.

Professor Buxing Han, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has served as the Director of Academic Committee of the Centre and Professor Jingxu Zhu, Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and Board Director of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, will serve as the Deputy Director. The team leader, Professor Wu, is dedicated to the research of clean energy conversion technologies and catalysis science and technologies. The Centre now has recruited over 20 renowned scholars of various disciplines from around the world and has established extensive academic collaborations with multiple prestigious institutions at home and abroad.

Over recent years, under the leadership of Professor Wu, the team's scientific research achievements have been gradually industrialised. The team has carried out cooperation with many enterprises to solve the technical problems, effectively improving the production process, enhancing the efficiency of solid waste conversion, and improving the economic benefits of enterprises. Additionally, a disposal technology for industrial solid waste has been licensed to the US company Glenlair Field Inc. and is being applied in hazardous waste treatment.

During the first construction stage from 2021 to 2024, the Centre is to invest 12 million RMB to construct a comprehensive platform for technology innovation and the industrialisation of carbonaceous waste processing technologies, building a cutting-edge centre of the field with international influence. In the future, the Centre aims to achieve “zero waste”, serve the green development of economy, and contributing to national carbon neutrality goals through highly efficient resource recovery technologies.
