President Xi Jinping pointed outatthe National College Conference on the Ideological and Political Workthat higher education should take "fostering virtue through education" as the core, have ideological and political work run through the entire process of education, and implement the Whole-process Education and All-round Education, so as to starta new chapter in the development of higher education in China. In response to this call,School of College English Teaching and Research launched English Culture Festival which covers a series of competitions, such as English Speaking Contest and English Micro-lectureCompetition, joint with Academic Affairs Office, Student Affairs Office, International Affairs Office, Communist Youth League Committee and School of Foreign Languages.

Micro-lecture Competition
On the Symposium on Ecological Protection and High-quality Development in the Yellow River Basin, President Xi Jinping called on us to preserve, inherit and promote the Yellow River culture. In order to carry out this idea, the Sixth HENU English Micro-lecture Competition takes "inheriting the civilization of the Central China, telling the story of the Yellow River"as the theme. Contestants tell different stories of the Yellow River from different perspectives, carrying forward the spirit of the Yellow River.

The year 2020 is unusual to us. The world woke up to a huge challenge of all time, sweeping up all the students in it.
