Advanced Studies | 春起扬帆处，秋达远岸时——初探广以首届毕业生升学情况

新春将至，广东以色列理工学院近200名首届本科生很快也将迎来毕业，他们的去向备受关注。

在针对毕业去向的调查中，超过八成的同学表示计划在本科毕业后继续升学。作为专注于理工科的研究型大学，大部分同学计划继续深造反映了学校特色，也体现了学校在培养研究型人才方面的努力和决心。

我们采访了学校相关方面的老师，让我们来看看广以首届本科生的升学情况目前进展如何。

目前同学们拿到多少offer？

据不完全统计，截至目前，我校本科生共收到68份offer。目前同学们收到的研究生项目录取通知书主要来自于以下这些著名学校：

据了解，目前许多境外大学还没有到发送录取通知的时间（如北欧、德国等欧洲国家、美国、部分英国大学等），同时国内研究生招生也还没有到发布录取结果的时间，以上信息只是一个阶段性的归纳。可以看出，广以学子的学术背景和资源能够获得众多世界一流大学的广泛认可。

学校在学生毕业升学方面有何辅导？

在职业发展辅导和相关能力提升方面，学校成立专门机构负责此项工作，本机构下设三个办公室，分别是Innovation Office （创新办公室），English Programs Services（英文教学与服务中心），Career Center （职业生涯发展中心）。在这里，学生可获得升学方面的指导和服务包括：修读有关职业发展和升学择校等相关方面的课程、英语水平提升训练、在升学方面接受专业老师的一对一辅导、获得相关文书修改的帮助和建议等。

申请过程中，学生有何优势？

在学生本身所具有的优势方面，主要是：

• 如果学生申请以色列理工学院或广东以色列理工学院的研究生项目，无需提供GRE成绩。外校同学申请则需要按具体专业的要求提供GRE成绩。

• 广东以色列理工学院学生，同时也是注册成为以色列理工学院学生，可提供其在以色列理工学院学习系统中的所有记录，包括成绩单、学位证等，由于以色列理工学院在世界知名理工科大学中有很高认可度，因此同学申研具有很强的竞争力。

• 学校老师具有深厚的学术研究背景和广阔的学术网络，他们积极为学生升学方面提供推荐意见，会向其他同行推荐优秀毕业生前往其他学校进行深造。

• 学生发展中心全力支持学生的职业发展规划和升学就业工作，帮助学生在能力培养、文书写作、选校择校方面更胜一筹。

作为国内目前最年轻的中外合作大学，能够在目前这个时间节点便取得这样的成绩，是全校各方、尤其是学生职业生涯规划指导团队努力的结果，也是以色列理工学院在世界知名大学中的崇高学术声誉的重要体现。

我们相信，同学们在广以接受良好学术训练之后，定能在深造平台上充分发挥，成长为具有家国情怀、全球视野和创新能力的优秀工程师和科技人才。

As the spring of 2021 comes, about 200 students ofthe first cohort of GTIIT is on the way to graduation. What these students will do or where they will study for postgraduate attracts much attention.

In the survey about the career plan after graduation, more than 80% of the students tended to go further study. As a university focusing on researching and science, the choice of most students is kind of characteristic of GTIIT in cultivating high-level research-oriented talents.

To know more about the students’ further study plan, we interview teachers and staff responsible to this filed and share the progress.

How many offers received by the students?

According to tentative statistics, so far, GTIIT students of cohort 2017 have received 68 offers from the following international universities:

There are still many well-known universities that have not yet sent an offer (such as Northern Europe, Germany, USA, some British universities, etc.), and the results of postgraduate admissions in domestic universities have not been released yet. So the information we got now is only a phrase summary. But from these above, we could see that the academic background and resources owed by GTIIT students are widely recognized by many top universities in the world.

Is there any instruction for graduation guidance?

In GTIIT, we have Innovation Office, English Programs Services, Career Center under the Dean of Innovation to provide supports about career service and development. In these office, students can take courses related to career development and university selection, get English training, receive one-by-one tutoring and get advice on application paperwork.

What advantages of GT students can be seen in application?

Advantages our students had are like:

• GT students do not have to submit GRE test result if they apply for postgraduate program in GTIIT /Technion, while other students should provide it according to requirements in program.

• Students here are not only registered in GTIIT but also Technion and they can get the all-academic records like transcript, degree certificate from Technion, which is highly recognized in the world.

• Teachers of GTIIT have a deep academic research background and a broad network of academic contacts. They actively give helpful advice and will recommend outstanding graduates to other universities for further studies.

• GTIIT will provide full supports in career service and development, which help students to find their goals and approach them.

As the youngest Sino-foreign joint university, such great performance cannot be achieved without everyone’s effort. It also reflects the high academic reputation of Technion among renowned universities.

We believe that with good academic training in GTIIT, students will be able to give full play in their further study institutes and become engineers, scientific or technological talents in professional areas.

We will continue watching on the development of our students. Let’s look forward to the good final answer from the first cohort of GTIIT graduates.
