Interview | 钱歆雨：愿在这里的每一天，都不被辜负

繁华的大学路上寒来暑往，广东以色列理工学院安静地伫立一隅，迎来又一批年轻热情的脸庞。来自天南地北的新生们心怀梦想与憧憬，开启在广以校园的人生篇章。自本期起，我们将陆续推出新生系列采访，共同聆听新一代GTer在广以的感悟与期待。

今天分享心得的是毕业于上海市大同中学的钱歆雨同学。

毕业于上海市大同中学，目前就读于机械工程与机器人专业。

“因为对理科的热爱，我开始了解广以。” 谈及与学校的初遇，2021级机械工程与机器人专业的钱歆雨说道。从选校之初，这所纯理工的中外合作大学就吸引了歆雨的注意。她与广以的故事，就这样开始了。

因为热爱，结缘广以

钱歆雨高中毕业于上海市大同中学。作为一所1912年成立的名校，近百年来，大同中学为国家输送了六万余名优秀人才，培育了三十九位“两院”院士。在这种学习氛围的熏陶下，钱歆雨对理工科产生了极大的兴趣。在一场宣讲会上，她了解到了广东以色列理工学院。

宣讲会后，她陆续参与多场广以的线上直播。招生老师和专业教授的介绍让她逐渐开始认识这所学校。在她看来，广以兼具理论与创新的课程体系、问题驱动式的教学方式、第一届毕业生所取得的成绩，都让她对这所年轻的高校充满信心。在志愿填报前，广以还推出了线上一对一招生咨询室，学长学姐们针对她的情况结合自身经历的答复，更让她坚定了选择广以的决心。

选择机械工程与机器人专业，则是源于家人的影响。由于家中有长辈从事相关行业，钱歆雨自小就对机械产生了兴趣。从简单的设备工作原理到复杂的人工智能、机器人的制造，机械的魅力令她着迷。在她眼中，机械是社会不断进步发展的重要基础，生活水平的提高离不开身边相关设备的更迭，而机械则是这一切发展的根本。带着对机械工程行业发展的信心，她来到了广以。

因为细节，爱上广以

“学校不大却五脏俱全，从宿舍到各个功能楼之间的连廊免去了学生忘记带伞的困扰。”说到对广以校园的第一印象，钱歆雨专门提及了这一细节。她认为，虽然这只是一处细小的设计，但见微知著，由此足以看出学校对学生的重视和关心。

作为一所以英文为授课语言的国际化大学，广以全英教学的环境让钱歆雨感受到了与高中完全不同的语言学习模式。“在这里，英文不单单局限于课本与试卷，而是贯穿于日常生活中。”与老师课堂课后频繁的交流逐步培养了她对英语的兴趣，让她在不知不觉中提升了英文水平。

“广以丰富多彩的学术活动和课余生活，让我拥有了很多自主选择的权利。“钱歆雨提到。在广以，除了正常的授课时间，每位教授都有属于自己的office hour， 学生可以在这段时间向教授提出与课程相关的问题。虽然只过了短短半个学期，线性代数课程的Jacob Mostovoy教授还是给她留下了深刻的印象。”每次在他的office hour提问时，哪怕是一些很琐碎的点，他都会不厌其烦地解释，这让我对接下来的课程有更大的期待。”

告别了“低头就是题海”的高三生活，迈入“抬头便是前途”的大学生活，钱歆雨给未来的自己写下了寄语——“好好学习，认真生活，愿以后回望时，每一天都没有被辜负。”希望这位优秀的女生能得偿所愿，在自己热爱的领域发光发亮。

Time flies on the prosperous Daxue Road, while Guangdong Technion Israel-Institute of Technology stands quietly in a corner, welcoming another group of young and enthusiastic freshmen. Students from all over the world, with dreams and aspirations, are ready to start their life at GTIIT. "Because of the passion for science, I began to know more about GTIIT." Talking about the first encounter with GTIIT, Qian Xinyu, a member of Cohort 2021 from the Mechanical Engineering and Robotics Program, said. When applying to university, this Sino-foreign cooperative university of science and engineering attracted Xinyu's attention. The story between her and GTIIT began.

Chose GTIIT, beacuse of passion

Qian Xinyu graduated from Shanghai Datong High School. As a prestigious school established in 1912, for the past 100 years, it has trained more than 60,000 outstanding talents and cultivated 39 academicians of both the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Under this learning atmosphere, Qian Xinyu has a great interest in science and engineering. In an admission lecture, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) attached her attention.

After the admission lecture, she participated in several live broadcasts of GTIIT. Through the description of teachers from admission department and professors, she got to know this university. In her opinion, the wide range of theoretical and innovative curriculum systems, problem-driven teaching methods, and the achievements of the first graduates all gave her confidence in the young university. Before college application, GTIIT also launched the online one-on-one admission consultation room. The replies of the seniors to her situation based on their own experience made her finally choose GTIIT.

The choice of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics Program is due to the influence of family. As there are elders in her family engaged in related industries, Qian Xinyu has been interested in machinery since childhood. From simple equipment working principles to complex artificial intelligence and robot manufacturing, the charm of machinery fascinates her. Machinery is an important foundation for the development of society. The improvement of living standards is inseparable from the replacement of related equipment, and machinery is the foundation of all these developments. With confidence in the future of the mechanical engineering industry, she came to GTIIT.

Love GTIIT, because of details

"The university is small but well-equipped. The corridor from the dormitory to the other buildings can save students from getting wet on rainy days." Speaking of his first impression of GTIIT campus, Qian Xinyu specifically mentioned this. She believes that a small design is enough to show the university's care to students.

As an international university taught in English, GTIIT's language teaching model is completely different from Qian Xinyu’s high school. “Here, English is not only in textbooks and test papers, but everywhere in daily life.” Frequent communication with teachers after class cultivated her interest in English, and gradually improved her English skills.

"GTIIT's rich and colorful academic activities and after-class life have given me a lot of opportunities." Qian Xinyu mentioned. In addition to the normal teaching time, each professor has office hours for students to ask questions related to the course. For only half a semester, Professor Jacob Mostovoy of the linear algebra course has already left a deep impression on her. "Every time I ask questions during his office hour, even if they are some trivial points, he explains them patiently, which makes me have greater expectations for his next course."

Saying goodbye to the high school life of "soaking in the sea of questions" and entering the university life of "sailing to the future", Qian Xinyu wrote a message to her future self – "Study hard and focus on live. I hope that when I look back, every day will be worthwhile." Hope this excellent girl can achieve her dream and shine in her field.
