cattle可数吗

cattle是可数名词，只是复数也是cattle。cattle是cows,bulls,oxen等的总称，虽为单数形式，但总表示复数意义；若用作主语，谓语要用复数；可受many修饰，但不能用much修饰。

当所表示的数量为十、百、千时，可省略其中的 head of。如：

100 (head of) cattle 100 头牛

3.a herd of cattle 与 a head of cattle 不同，前者指“一群牛”，后者指“一头牛”。
